Carbon fiber Macbook Air

John sent in a preview of his carbon fiber Macbook air!

I enjoyed your macbook air monkey etching, pt, so I thought you'd like to see the first shots of my mod... a replacement carbon fiber back. I haven't weighed it yet, but it's definitely lighter than the stock aluminum version... and little flimsier.

This was my first try at carbon fiber, so there's still more work to be done... version 2 will be 33% thicker (and much stronger). I also need to sand & clearcoat it to make it look prettier. And add air ventilation holes, too. It will hopefully not have those air bubbles on the feet, either... I think it's off to a good start.

I'll put up the gory details on my website when I get a little further.

Patent this and consider it to a major company, seeeeexy! At least for those that appreciate carbon fiber

It can be painted and thus not have that cheap ricer look.
