New @ the MAKE store - Edison-Style cup phonograph kit - From Gakken's Sophisticated Science Kit for Adults, this replica kit uses the same technology that Thomas Edison used, replacing Edison's waxed pipe and stylus, the kit uses a plastic cup and a needle, but the end results are the same! You record your own voice on a plastic cup -- and play it back! Here's how it works, your voice vibrates the air minutely when it gets into the horn. OK, so just to clarify before I throw down my 35 bucks, does the kit build the really super sweet one shown in the images at the top of the article, or the wooden one from the video?

@DirkusMaximus - the shipping one is the super-sweet one shown in the images, the one in the video was the one i saw in japan, also nice - but not as nice!

Awesome video. Awful video player.
An advertisement with no off button is offensive in the extreme.
