I've noticed lately that there are far too many AC-DC converters around the house than there should be. Like computer power supplies, fluorescent ballasts (I think), and chargers for various electronic devices. Each one has an efficiency loss, and counting all of them together, I bet the total loss is fairly high.
It'd be nice if we could have either powered ethernet or USB power connectors throughout the house so we can have just one converter and the individual devices just change the voltages.

the USB connectors would be very easy to do!
