Remake: desktop cat bed

kitinbox.jpg

Check out this clamp-on cat bed to prevent "keyboard cat." Looks like it would be pretty easy to make one of these kitty perches to keep whiskers close, but not too close to your computing. Via Geekologie

It looks great

but the reason for the cat being on the keyboard is that you have been ignoring them for the last 4 hours.

Maybe this way you can take more frequent breaks to pet the little guy, since he's right there!

Cats everywhere are mourning the invention of flat-screen monitors.

yah right

I'm sorry, but no matter how comfy that bed is the damn cat's gonna be all over your keyboard anyways. I'd actually postulate that the likelihood of cat continuing to sleep on the keyboard is directly related to the cost of the bed thing

Well yes, of course. That's why we need to remake. Using a dirty old sliced up Amazon box practically guarantees that it will be used.

Perhaps you should re-use an old keyboard instead of something comfortable that is designed for the cat? Also, it should periodically dump the cat on the floor, so as to convince them that they're not supposed to be sleeping there.

oh man this thing screams yuppie.

put the cat in your damned lap.

Missing parts...

Great idea!! There's just one missing part in there. See, cats like to sleep on silly bumpy objects. I once had one spend the afternoon sleeping in and open VCR chassis on my workbench!!!
Anyway, I think you should line the bottom with a couple old keyboards. Just glue them to the thing and leave part of the cord dangling there for puss to play with!
