DIY: Air conditioner
Just in time for summer is this DIY air conditioner. This is version 3 of the DIY air conditioner, so a lot of the problems have been worked out. It uses a heat exchanger and bags of ice to cool the air. He even made 40 bags of ice over the winter so he doesn't have to buy any. [Thanks Franko]

Salt will make the ice colder like in homemade ice cream recipes. Sawdust will greatly extend the life of the ice like in WWII experiments of sawdust ice aircraft carriers.
