They say it works by burning the unburned fuel in your exhaust system. So, this won't work on any car with a catalytic converter. There isn't enough, if any, unburned fuel in the exhaust. They'll work on cars with a manual choke where you can force a super rich fuel mixture through the exhaust and burn it using the spark plug. This idea has been around since the early 1950's. In fact you can Make: it yourself quite easily.
If you want a flame thrower you'll need to supply fuel to it. Check out the models that use a small propane tank that you put in the trunk. Then your not belching out raw gasoline, which isn't good for your exhaust. (check the video and see the puddle of burning fuel).
