The Play Table: Hide your clutter

This is a really interesting table made by BCXSY. It has 16 little compartments to hide you stuff. I like the idea of keeping your clutter hidden, but at $6000 a remake may be in order.

Clever and quite attractive, but possibly the slightest bit impractical: "Which f**kin' square has the coffee cups in it again?!" Plus unless I'm mistaken you're left with a coffee table that always has a hole in the top. Which I suppose could be an asset from time to time, esp. if you could make sure that hole was at one of the corners and thus out of the way.

6000? No thanks. I'll make something similar in the near future using a glass topped table. It'll be a shadowbox table and should come out under $100-200.

6000$ wow!

I don't think it's quite worth that amount of money, considering there will always be a missing piece...but for a remake - the hole could be filled perhaps by a loose tile, without a rail or groove...or perhaps by a smooth tile that can be depressed and that would spring back into place unless a tile is slid over top of it...
