In pure maker's style, I'm wondering how to get the same effect (effect only, no way to get close to this superlative work).
I'm unable to get anything similar using long exposure alone.
Hints?

Instead of a single long exposure, what comes to mind is a lot of smaller exposures on the same frame.
Maybe slow film, a filter, slow exposure for some motion blur, trigger every second or so?
(just guessing, wishing I was more of a film geek than I currently am).
