We wrote about Dennis Havlena back in 2005 and I thought it was time for an update. The instruments are still great, but now we have video of a lot of them being played. Check out the collection of homemade instruments by Dennis Havlena

I ran across this gentlemen myself in 2005, and got a copy of his plans CD of. The hurdy-gurdy and bagpipes are awesome. I hope to make the time to try the hurdy-gurdy out (I might actually be able to play it) Definitely check it!

Anyone try to make the Tamboura on Dennis' site? I would like to make this out of cheaper and more readily available guitar strings. Thinking about modifying the design to be a 3' neck instead.
Or I could get some strings here:
