Here's a nice tutorial on doing some logic analysis of a PS2 console controller using a Lantronix LogicPort: 34 channel logic analyzer. This way you can find out exactly how much wizardry and engineering goes into making some of the most popular console controllers of all time. And perhaps after you're done, you can build a better one.
