Homemade Electron Gun

This is just the beginning of a project that aims to display video via a homemade electron gun. So far the gun is operational in a vacuum bell jar and it is able to produce scanner line. [Thanks Noah!]
The aim of this experiment was to construct an electron gun completely from scratch. The ultimate goal was to produce a video image inside the bell jar of the vacuum rig.

I like seeing projects like this where someone is doing something different and interesting just because they can. Nice workmanship too by the way!
I'll be interested to see how you come up with your own phosphor screen.

I do like projects where the process is just as important, if not more important, than the end results.
