We found these gorgeous lamps, made from clear-cased micro-cassettes, on Boing Boing Gadgets. This seems like a cool, easy project that you could also do with full-sized clear cassettes (you'd just want to use fewer of them so your lamp wouldn't be huge). Check out the cool patterns the light makes.
