Robotica - three cool events!

Robotica: Machines and Motion will have their opening reception June 6th at Rhythmix Cultural Works in Alameda.
Toys. Industrial machines. Household helpers. Pop culture archetypes. Art. Who can be all of these and more? Robots! Artists will include Mark Pauline of Survival Research Laboratories, Al Honig, Kal Spelletich, Alameda artists Christian Schiess and Michael Schiess, Amy Jenkins, Simone Davalos and many more.

There will be a workshop for kids on June 8th.
Students will work together to build a functional robot hand. The Hand will be slightly larger than a human hand. Students will assemble the hand, program it ,test it and play with it. The hand will be able to 'see' objects and automatically grab them. Student can change the behavior of the hand, adjust the force it holds things with and change the speed that the fingers move. No previous experience needed.
And a closing party to benefit SRL's Todd Blair on July 20th.
