Wireframe trucks and push toys from Africa

These homemade wireframe trucks from Cameroon, Africa use a large steering wheel to maneuver a small car on the road. Really simple construction here, built from found materials and junk, but pretty inspiring nonetheless.

We made these cars when we were in primary school (grade 7 and under) and really enjoyed them. we would often decorate them with anything found.

I remember being a kid in Zimbabwe and South Africa, driving our nice family car to our nice family house past dirt poor kids pushing these wire toys and wishing I had one. Sadly the petrol stations have started mass producing them in recent years.
