Jeff found this interesting item @ an electronics fleamarket. After opening and documenting the curious contents, he posted pics and asked if anyone could shed any light - and that they did. A knowledgeable reader wrote -
These are the IF transformers that are components of the Navy ARA, USAAF BC-946, and AN R-24/ARC-5 broadcast band (520-1500kHz) receivers. They may be some spares that were produced in large quantities during the war. Nice find!Vintage electronics can be a lot of fun. Those desiccant packets haven't changed much, huh? - Coil in a can





































Well, I see one thing different on that dessicant pack - it doesn't say "Do not eat." I guess people were smarter back then...
