Meet the Peek --- $100 and $20/month for service, not exactly at the cheap threshold for it to be a fun device to pick up for hacking - but it will be interesting to see if folks want an always on email only device. If it's hackable (all things are usually) it could be used for some projects that need a data connection like a GPS / location beacons, sensor devices, etc.
Hmm, the Texas Instrument Locosto chipset? I guess that is better than the Texas Instrument Highcosto chipset.

Anyone remember these? I picked one up for about $20-$25 at OfficeMax once the service no longer existed. I tried (read: failed) to turn it into a network terminal.
However, if this thing can be modded to have Wi-Fi (802.11x), with a battery life of 4-5 days, this might be a nice little device to have, even at $100. You can hardly get a PDA for that nowadays.
Also, site specs states OS as "Peekux" makes me think it's a Linux variant that can support vary hardware additions (as long as there are interface options).
Design is kinda reminiscent of the original blackberry too, don'tcha think?
