Incredible, a pinhole skull camera by Wayne Martin Belger via BBG.

4”x5” camera made from Aluminium, Titanium, Brass, Silver, Gem Stones and a 150 year old skull of a 13 year old girl. Light and time enters at the third eye, exposing the film in the middle of the skull.

Project: Panoramic Pinhole Camera – Lenseless and low-tech, pinhole cameras have always been maker-friendly. But forget the Quaker Oats carton, and go wide with this roll-film, panorama design. Read this article in MAKE: 09: Fringe, Page 92.

the girl probably did not guess that her scull was going to be a camera obscura.
imagine what they will do out of our sculls after few hundred years, hope they will post it to make: so the future makers can get inspired.

    That is poor taste.

    This just makes me sad.

One more reason to be cremated and scattered, so no one can use you as an art project.

That is some serious sick shit. He uses what once was a human to shock people and become famous. Actually everybody could do that, but for good tastes sake doesn’t. I could make skull coffee mugs and plastinated brain paperweights. But is disrespectful and wrong.

  6. Padillwan says:

I think this was an ingenious idea. It depends on how you came across the skull. Is it a family ancestor? Or did you just dig it up? Either way…Props for ingenuity. As for you people who think that it is grotesque or wrong, perhaps you should broaden your horizons. I hope to donate my skin,to the Skin Museum in Amsterdam, some day.I have a beautiful depiction of the japenese story of the Koi swimming up the waterfall to emerge as a dragon. Soooo, so much for the idea of it being WRONG to use body peices in the name of art huh?
