Compartmentalizing your purse

Jake von Slatt carries a purse -- and he's man enough to call it that. He's also geek-maker enough to want to properly organize its innards with desired compartments. I've never thought of making additional organizing inserts with accordion folders, file folder stock, glue, and packing tape, but it sure looks like it works well. And who cares if it looks funky? No one is really going to see it inside your bag, and your lipstick... er... I mean your Flash Drive, won't care. I especially like the etched Altoid's tin containers and the holsters for TWO Leatherman tools.

After all these years

Women have been carrying purses for hundreds of years. finally, a man starts carrying one and actually organizes things that go inside. Right on dude, right on.

I carry one as well and the thing I look for when picking out a bag is dividers inside that are stiff to keep things separated. My front part also has pockets and pen holders sewn into it. I think mine is an old laptop bag and I'll probably start carry a laptop with me. At least it looks like a laptop bag so I don't constantly get odd stairs but, then again, I'm in the Portland, OR area so no one really questions it.

Good idea though!

At the risk of being called sexist..

I've known lots of women and not a one had a purse that could be called anything close to "organized". :)

Ok, mysogyny aside, this is a hell of a hack.

"Man enough?"

Give me a break on the "man enough" thing. I'm a man and I call mine a purse because that's the name of the thing. Nothing "manly" about it, I'm just a grownup who isn't terrified of what others think.

That said, cool organizing! I am a photographer so I found a good camera bag that is also my purse.
