i know this is a little late on this post but...
if i have this right, to pull this off i would need the following:
ipodtouch/iphone w/ iOSc installed
arduino w/ ethernet shield
laptop/pc
wireless router
this all looks pretty interesting... i have all that minus the ethernet shield. its just that i find myself wondering why not just use the computer as the input device (instead of the iphonepodtouch)? what is gained? seems like it would be simpler (less hardware needed) to do this w/o the iphonepodtouch. am i missing something, or is this just a super-geek-indulgence?

I hear where you're coming from - still, using the iTouch here would give one far more ability then a desktop or even laptop computer. It would likely be useful for art/performance and similar situations.
