I see these switches every time I go to the thrift store; I’m glad now there’s something useful to do with them! Randy converted his to a DIY audio switch.

I’m chuffed that i have to pay $24 (actually you have to pay for the entire year!) to view details of this on instructables. Nice way to drive revenue…
What $24 are you talking about? Instructables is a free website.
No, when you click on a small picture it requires a “pro” account to see it. “Pro” accounts are $1.95/month, billed annually in advance.
The pop-up says:
“Pro Membership Benefit!
To view larger images, support DIY & Instructables by Signing-up for a Pro Account!”
That’s not free.
Not happening for me. You must be special.
It’s not showing that for this instructable now, but it does on others. Perhaps the author can change it?
They’ve recently begun implementing Pro Accounts, however, the site is still free to view with the caveat that you have to click on individual steps. The small picture thing is something that there’s been a lot of complaints about and I hope that they’ll adjust it so that it doesn’t require a pro account to view subsequent images for a step. The site is still primarily free, with the option of paying for a few extra benefits.
I also get that message when I try to “view all steps on one page” or look at the PDF, but you can see all the pictures and all the write-up by viewing one step at a time.
Send me $12 and I’ll send you that information for free.
Could be useful, although I’ve never seen an amp that couldn’t do this… Perhaps he’s using it with headphones.
