there seems recently to have developed an entire genre of "art" whose formula is just "cover one big thing with lots of small things and claim that it's a statement about our society." The result is almost always neat, but never betrays any real skill. To me Make is about makers, not artists. There is a lot of overlap, but makers are craftsmen first, while artists are, well, artists first.
This is still pretty neat though...

last time I checked...you have to "Make" art. It doesn't just ooze from pores...
