Hpropman presents a group of four tutorials about how to connect common motion detecting devices to a microcontroller for triggering haunt props. He has separate tutorials for flood light motion sensors, wall switch motion sensors, X10 wireless motion sensors, and Parallax motion sensors.

He hooked up a motion sensor as the TURBO SWITCH?!?!?!??!

  2. craig says:

That ‘turbo switch’ plug is the sensor’s factory connection from the sensor board to the high voltage switching board,
I played with these years ago, primarily as portable plug-in motion sensors. Burgulars were unscrewing motion light bulbs on garages and thieving in the dark. My hacks included sensor heads to clip wherever you wanted, the wire running back to the high voltage plug-in part usually indoors through a window. posibilities were limitless. It switched on a 9V transformer powering a personal 120db alarm, (quite startling) or a FM wireless intercom with the ‘page’ button down. this ‘silent alarm’ alerted me in the house when the indoor intercom recieved the active ‘page’ signal from the garage.
