Do you mind my asking why you're selling a protoshield other than Adafruit's, when hers has been available for some time and costs less?
The open-source community in general (more software than hardware, but it's spreading to hardware now too) has an endemic disease of starting new projects to do the same thing rather than working to make the first or best project better. This fragments the marketplace and makes it difficult for even dedicated open-source advocates to find, recommend, and use the best of breed product to meet a particular need. It also weakens each such project by fragmenting development efforts.
I'm a big fan of LadyAda, I'm delighted by the kits and products that she brings to market before anyone else, and I'd rather support her efforts and reward her development cost than go with a knockoff.
I do see that she doesn't claim to have made the *first* protoshield; so maybe I'm off base and the one you're selling *is* actually the first that was on the market? Maybe I should be over on her site railing at her instead.

I notice that the empty holes silkscreened with signal names are all inboard of their riser counterparts. If they had all been to the one side, ( eg side nearest camera inboard, side furthest away outboard ) then populating these with pinheaders would make the proto shields stackable. Was it not the case that stackable shields was a desirable feature of the platform?
