My only complaint is that the components are pretty well packaged, so they don't really get seen as what they are.
But all in all, it was a great hit with my neighbor's kid, and she's had a blast doing the various projects. I was hopeful, but pleasantly surprised how much she liked it.
Anyway, I give it a thumbs-up!

Some of the components, some are fairly visible, which I like, others not quite as much. Minor quibble.

I originally got this for my daughter when she was 8. We have breakfast at a diner 4 days a week before school and we would just do 1 project a morning. 4 years later she still talks about the time she set off the alarm when the waitress brought the eggs!
However, I also bought one for my 83 yr old dad for his birthday. Its great, he totally uses it and it challenges him. It brings back memories of when I was a kid. I got into electronics because my dad built a Lafayette Explore-Air shortwave radio in 1968. I would stand around him huffing solder and got all jazzed when we tuned in Radio Moscow, Radio Havana Cuba and about 15 other countries in English. Electronics and kit building with kids and elders is awesome!

Awesome stories, thanks for sharing. I just started making circuits with my kids too! No alarm system yet!
