I like the ideas, but I wonder how much of this is actually re-purposed materials...
That zylophone looks professionally made and tuned. I suppose it's possible they have a machine shop somewhere to put all this stuff together, but since the pipes and things all look brand new...I doubt it.

Perhaps your construction sights are more thifty where you are. That black plastic piping comes in large spools. It is possible to find multible yards of the stuff due to it not simply staying on the spool or some one simply ran it over.
