I think i spelled that wrong.

So, I did a general GOOGLE search for the money hats thing, and found 99% of results were links to MAKE.

1% were links to the Japanese site, which is the original?
Here:

http://www.ne.jp/asahi/fickle/flickers/noguchi/menu.htm

Google Translate gave me a bit of info at the bottom of the page,

"How to make the DE bill origami turban Noguchi" Subsequently the
今度はワタシの著書「お札でゆかいなおりがみ野口クンの本」が発売になりました。 Now cotton system book "book token Inaori Yuka Noguchi said the bill is" now on sale.

From that I google searched "How to make the DE bill Origami turban Noguchi..."

And found this:

And then I had to go back to work!

Hope there is more stuff out there relating to this, I like Money Fun (Especially the ART of using sharpies, and whatnot to recreate the portraits on money

http://www.flickr.com/groups/funnymoney/

and within that group is a group which fold money, then photographs real things/people in the background creatively,

Turban Noguchi

I went to the Japanese site, and did a quick translation. Here's a summary:

In 2006, the maker (Yousuke Hasegawa) of these "Turban Noguchi"'s saw a tv show where someone folded the Japanese 1000yen bill into Hideo Noguchi with a turban. He got obsessed with it, and made up a bunch of his own. He originally posted the photos of these new versions on Mixi, a Japanese social networking site.

Eventually, the person thought to be the originator of the "Turban Noguchi" contacted him and told him how awesome the new versions were. Hasegawa then started his own website devoted to this money origami.
The World of Turban Noguchi
http://tuerbannoguti.blog74.fc2.com/blog-entry-10.html).

He also posted some youtube videos of how he folds these (some are mentioned in an earlier comment).

Hasegawa had so much success that he decided to publish a book. It is called "Osatsu de yukaina origami Noguchi-kun no hon" (approx. translation, "The book on happy origami Noguchi made from money") It is available on Amazon Japan.

Hope this helps,

LM
