Detectair is pollution-sensing fashion

Detectair is a project by Genevieve Mateyko and Pamela Troyer that uses an air quality sensor to detect and communicate pollution levels to the wearer through embedded lights in the garment. Then the wearer can pull the collar up over her face to protect against pollutants. A nice idea, for sure, depending on what the collar’s made from. [via Fashioning Technology]

Years ago I was intrigued by a passage from a sci-fi novel called “The Darkling Wind” by Somtov Sucharitkul the passage read “Water clogged the mechanism of her darkrobe; it had ceased to generate the holosculpt images of dark flame with which she clothed herself…She appeared naked suddenly except for some soggy scraps of cloth plastered to her skin”
Seeing your work I wondered if you had ever looked into making holographic clothing? Projected from a collar or maybe medallions attacked to a leotard or basic pantsuit. If such a thing is possible your model could just walk up and down the catwalk while her garment changes into however many you might want. It’s a thought.
