In the Maker Shed: Gramophone Kit

Create an actual working gramophone recorder/player with the Gakken Premium Berliner Gramophone Kit. Record onto many different types of materials, like old unwanted CDs (yes, I’m talking about your Wham collection) or any hard, smooth surface material you can cut a groove in. Check out the English PDF instructions here (book and kit are in Japanese but beautifully done) but the detailed illustrations are more than enough to easily put this kit together. MAKE is proud to be the exclusive distributor in North America for these brilliant kits from Gakken.

  1. Vorple says:

There’s a mix up between the pictured wind-up kit and described kit requiring batteries. The instructions are for the battery-powered kit. The comments suggest that the kit that is delivered is the wind-up.

  2. William Brohinsky says:

The link to the .pdf is broken, too.

  3. John Montgomery says:

Does anyone have a working link to English instructions for this?

The Maker Shed is brought to you by Maker Media, the makers of MAKE Magazine, the Maker Faire, and much more.

Now we have a little bit of everything for makers, crafters, and budding scientists, from Arduinos to sock monkeys to chemistry sets .
