Nomadic plants roam land, consume resources

These nomadic plants, or Plantas Nómadas, are the brainchild of Mexican artist Gilberto Esparza. Said to be powered by microbial fuel cells, they can apparently roam the earth, seeking out more sources of nutrition. I’m not convinced they would be able to survive for long on their own in the wild, but the idea of an army of cyborg plants is pretty excellent! [via technabob]

    Technically, I think they’d be plant cyborgs rather than “robotic plants”.
