When a professional knitter and a movie critic live in the same household, there’s bound to be some crossover. In our house, that convergence takes form as “Movie Mondays” on my blog. Every week I post screenshots of the knitwear I spot in one of the many flicks we’re watching — we’ve become veritable eagle eyes of Silver Screen yarn; my sons even commenting when a beanie or blanket flashes across the television. Recently, while researching Twilight for his movie news website, smellslikescreenspirit.com, my husband came across this photo still of Alice wearing fingerless mitts in the upcoming sequel, New Moon. Enter this project: simple wrist warmers for a complicated girl!

Thanks for the great pattern!! Love how you’ve gotten the whole family to be on the look out for great knitting projects!
Does anyone have the pattern for these fingerless mits that are crochet??? Can’t knit but love these!
i can’t knit but this is awesome!!! i wish i could make a pair for myself!!! i’llshow this to my friend and ask her if she can knit those beautiful wrist warmers for me XD (sorry for my english)
I want bella’s hat and mittens from twilight does anyone know where I can find the pattern email me at lilbabyjanes@gmail.com. TIA J
I love knitting, i am so going to make thise, sorry for my english <3
i love these. so gonna make them. thanks.
but…
can u post a pattern for the shrug alice wears on bella’s first day in twilight??
Hi, i am knitting these and it is the first time i have used dpns and everything is going fine BUT how do i knit straight? I can’t get passed the thumb opening..
Help
I made one so far i wish that you could see a picture of the other side so we can see what the thumb part looks like i followed the pattern and i got two holes and had to sew the other hole up. not sure what i did wrong im sure that i followed the pattern right.
I thought this said to use a flower loom, but then the instructions say 8DPNS. Can anyone help me figure out how to do this on a loom?
Hi Wendy,
The loom pattern is coming out tomorrow! And yes we are using a flower loom. This was the original knitting pattern that is the inspiration.
me too! Help!
The loom pattern for the wrist warmers are out now. Here’s the link:

I was just wondering if anyone knew the actual color for these, because the Ocean Blues print does not have the orange in it that the wrist warmers do. I’ve been through all the yarn on the Lion Brand site, and it’s not there. Anyone else noticed or knows the actual one?
I haven’t read the Twilight books (although I see students reading them all over the school) nor have I seen the movie, but I just love this pattern. I finished a pair for my daughter in law & might just make one for myself when holiday gifts are finished!
I ws just wondering if you have a pattern for a womens size small instead of large and x-large?
Also, I wanted t know if yu had any crochet patterns for this?
instead of oceans blues print use magestic mountain print, its moree true to new moon
Thanks for the tip!
im a new knitter so im not sure if im missing something but 31sts wont work in the k1p1 ribbing? am i crazy and sleep deprived or am i not aware of something here that i should be? any help would be so awesome! even if its “your daft go to sleep!” lmoa! thanks
When you knit straight, I understand the reverse and how to get the flat panel. But, do you just leave the yarn on the unused pin alone, and then pick it back up when you go back to knitting in the round? It seems like it would get very tight and then close up the thumb hole, but I can’t figure out what to do with that loop of yarn instead.
Thanks!
Hi thanks for the help earlier how I don’t see a pattern for his on the loom. Is it followed the same way? I am new to knitting and am only doing loom knitting since it is easier for me.
Thank you for your help! I searched but for some reason it was not pulling up. Again thanks!
I love these, but have not learned to knit on the dpn. I can knit on the loom. I need the instructions to do them on the loom.
I need the instructions for these, to do on the loom. Can not seem to learn how to work with the dpn. I can knit on the loom.
