CRAFT friend and tech fashionista Diana Eng has launched a new line of laser-distressed tees and tops.
Traditional distressed t-shirts are popular for their tattered and well-worn style. I use the accurate targeting of a laser cutter to precision distress floral cell-inspired lace patterns. The laser burns designs into a lightweight 100% cotton material. A special treatment is used to stabilize the lace pattern preventing the shirt from unraveling and creating a shirt that has a controlled distressed design which evolves gradually as the shirts are worn. The shirts are fairly durable, after all they are machine washable.

just brilliant!
Bollocks. Lousy laser cut cloth that frills edges, that’s because the power modulation is difficult to control e.g. a ‘tube’ CO2 laser, you will spend hours experimenting with that power percent menu, I had used a cheap chinese made laser to cut appliqué, it so happens those frilled edge where quite sought after, for that pretentious hand made quality, heh, like that quote.
Genuis, innovative, exciting thinker inspiring to others, love her work.
