Cupcakes and Cashmere posted this fun, fresh mermaid nails DIY using a sweet shade by Essie and Martha Stewart glitter. This is pretty adorable and might have to make an appearance on my nails this weekend.

I am loving the new beauty DIY trend I am seeing all over design blogs right now. Makes looking cute way easier for a lazy girl like myself. How have you DIYed your look recently? Let me know in a comment below.

I did an “ombre” effect on my nails recently… 2 coats of bright purple, let it dry, and then use an eyeshadow sponge applicator to sponge on a darker purple from the tip (heaviest) to about the middle of the nail (lightly so it fades). The bright underneath was matte and the dark was glittery, so it kind of had the same effect as this one! I left it without topcoat to see the texture better.
Bethany that sounds so rad. Did you take any photos by chance? I’d love to see them.
Love this look! Did you sprinkle on the glitter while the polish was still wet?
