I’ve found some delicious things at Trader Joe’s, and I count Vegetable Masala Burgers among the ranks. They kind of taste like the inside of a samosa, formed into a patty shape and frozen. Potatoes, carrots, onions, Indian spices… yum!
Emily Malone of Daily Garnish posted a recipe to make your own Vegetable Masala Burgers. She adds a few things that aren’t in the original recipe, like edamame and oats, but it looks like hers are probably just as tasty, if not more. And they remained a cohesive patty when cooked, which is not so easy to achieve with a homemade veggie burger.
When you make veggie burgers, you’re never quite sure until you FLIP whether or not they are going to hold together or crumble to bits. I am happy to report that these held together really well — probably my best to date!

Wow, thanks for the post. I like her recipe. I don’t eat any refined fats (there as weak as refined sugar imo), but I think it’ll be easy to eliminate — she only uses 1+Tablespoons. I’ll cook without the oil and turn down the heat from med-high to med. Thanks again!
