Our friends over at Lion Brand Yarn have a new crochet along starting up this week. Dora Ohrenstein designed this half medallion bag and will be hosting the crochet along on the Lion Brand web site.

For this Half Medallion Bag, I wanted to create a three dimensional effect that radiates out from a center point. Bobbles and post stitches create this dimension.
Rather than a full circle for the bag, I decided on a half circle, because I think it’s such a pretty shape. While none of the stitches used here are difficult, in order to make the proper increases for the bag while also maintaining the 3D design, stitch counting on each row will be important.
