I was deep into a google image search session when I caught a glimpse of one of Joanne Conklin’s homemade New Kids On The Block sweaters and, needless to say, it stopped me in my tracks. Joanne posted some pictures of these sweaters on her blog and explained the circumstance in which she made them.
We were living in Germany at the time and bands like New Kids On The Block were huge with the teen set. However, there were no fan t-shirts to be found anywhere, so I decided to knit sweaters. I made one for my daughter, then her friends, and word-of-mouth spread and the next thing you know I’d knit over a hundred of them, selling all but about 6 of them.
Something tells me that there may still be a demand for these…
Oh yeah, and just as a bonus, here’s a Vanilla Ice sweater that she made:

oh. my. goodness. this is awesome!
I would kill for one of them! Amazing work!
Totally awesome. I would have rocked these as much as possible circa 1990 (ok, and would find ways to wear them now).
These are AMAZING! I could totally hang tough in these.
Oh man. I still sleep with the blanket that’s in the background on the Joey sweater picture.
In.Sane. Dang. And she knit how many?? I love how these are all very 90′s raglans too! =D
I was a bit too old to go ‘gaga’ over NKOTB back in the day but I thought they were cute. Hearing their music takes me back!
I would love 2 have 1 but i’m broke they’re 2 fab i know they would keep me warm esp the joey 1
Please, sir, conjure any figure and I will pay it for that Vanilla Ice jumper. Seriously. Have my life savings. Please.
