I’ve always loved skeleton keys—in relation to weddings or as quirky antiques—so I’m definitely digging this neon skeleton keys tutorial that my pal Polly from The Firefly Express shared on Limn & Lovely!

Keys! They’re a classic, symbolic piece of wedding decor. I wanted to create a modern, versatile take on the skeleton key by combining two of my favorite trends: washi tape and neon. These bold keys can adorn favors, hang from floral arrangements, or be used as color-coded escort cards.

  1. I’ve been collecting antique keys for years and I try to keep the original patina intact, so I nearly had a heart attack when I saw keys covered in neon paint! I was relieved that the tutorial used reproduction keys and acrylic paint (which is relatively easy to remove).
