This is a terrible fire hazard, please do not do this! As soon as a draft hits, this will fall over, and then you’ve got burning candle wax spilled inside an easily combustible paper bag. I cannot think of a worse combination.
Thanks for your concern! Generally, luminaries are filled with sand/stones to keep them in place and to hold the tea lights in the center, away from the paper. You can also use LED candles instead of real tea lights to cut down on the risk even more. -Haley on CRAFT
Yes, you can do this same idea using a LED candle in the bag like Haley said. I addressed this in the tutorial, but I understand the concern
