Mary Corbet from Needle ‘n Thread may has solved one of my most frustrating crafting problems: transferring embroidery patterns—or any pattern, for that matter—onto felt. You can find her prick and pounce embroidery design transfer method here, then check out her suggestions for using this method on felt. Plus, if you’re careful, you can just cut out the pounced felt shapes without connecting the dots to draw the full shape, which is definitely a time saver. I’m really looking forward to giving this a try!

It occurs to me that you could do hole punching with a wing needle on a sewing machine…if the felt is all natural fiber the needle will leave behind pin holes. It’s just a thought and would go faster than doing it by hand. Better yet, use KK2000 to temporarily adhere the fabric to the transfer, sew with the wing needle and you’re done. Don’t even have to thread the sewing machine!
