How many of you make resolutions for the new year? Do you ever make crafty resolutions? Crafty author Noah Scalin asked that very question in his 2010 book, 365: A Daily Creative Journal, in which he challenged readers to make something, just one thing, every single day for a year. While the book has been out for a while, I’m seeing several of my crafty friends take on the challenge once again, from working with a theme (hearts, butterflies, etc.), to simply saying “I’ll do it!” and putting a small bit of time aside each day to be creative. I’m doing it again, too – I started by bringing fabric scraps along with me, on a train ride to Chicago for a post-wedding trip, to make fabric yo-yos (see the picture above). Will you take the challenge in 2013?

Just because u make something daily doesn’t mean you should.
To do something -anything creative everyday no matter the medium or size will bring a lot of pleasure at the end of the day or week or month or year when you see what you accomplished.
I try to knit or do something creative every day. Often that is baking, but usually I try to do a craft. I am hoping to try to do more interesting things as I work through my stash.
I got an iPad for Xmas. My family didn’t realize how bad my eyesight is & that I can’t use it to read the way most people do. I’ve been making quick abstract sketches in the Paper app every day using my hands, sometimes not looking much at the screen, leaving a lot to chance, no erasing.
