Needle felting is a medium that is often seen as only practical for making small objects. I love seeing fiber artists who tackle large-scale projects. This fox mask that I discovered in the CRAFT Flickr pool, by Laura Lee Burch is a wonderful example of useful, ambitious needle felting. I also think it would be a cozy way to stay warm while out on Halloween night.

I would make sure you use inexpensive roving (say from like Vogue Fabrics in Evanston, IL) for a big project like this…otherwise, this fox mask could get expensive!
This deserves to be hung on a wall as art. I could see a whole range of masks in this medium – animals, shamanistic figures, kachinas, etc. WOW, if only I had the talent and patience….
