As you know, we’re celebrating the release of CRAFT: 06 with six nationwide release parties today. Each party will offer hands-on crafting and tasty snacks, plus fun giveaways. Each city will be putting their own spin on things (our Portland hosts have been previewing some prizes here), but I thought I’d let you in on some of what we’ll be giving away here in Los Angeles!

We’ll have two CRAFT: The First Year box sets to give away–each city will have these, you’ll be happy to know. These puppies go for $60 a pop and are a wonderful addition to your craft library. Speaking of which…

We’ll be giving away a copy of Knitting New Mittens & Gloves by Robin Melanson. This gorgeous new book features 28 fabulous patterns for creating offbeat mittens, gloves, and wrist warmers. I’m particularly fond of the fingerless driving gloves project. There’s also a cool pattern for making layered gloves that you knitters are gonna go crazy for.
