I’ve got some brisket corning in my fridge from the corned beef recipe that Natalie posted last week, but if you’re vegetarian or didn’t plan in advance, you can still add a bit of Irish flair to your dinner tonight! Above is a short video explaining how to make traditional Irish soda bread, and here’s the soda bread recipe. The site also has a cool history of how it evolved, as well as some variations, and is worth checking out. (Whatever you may think of as soda bread, the stuff they make in Ireland doesn’t have fruit or sweetener in it; it’s an accompaniment to a main meal rather than a dessert or teatime treat.)

If you really want to impress your guests, I suggest you try this homemade butter how-to. Doesn’t it look amazing? And it seems like it’s not as hard to do as it sounds!
Happy St. Paddy’s Day, everyone!

That butter looks so yummy, but doesn’t your arm feel like it’s going to fall off about half way through? :)
