Congratulations to Marie from Portland, OR for winning! Thanks to everyone who entered.

Because Subversive Cross Stitch taught me to cross stitch, of course! And my walls need a little more offensiveness to keep them interesting.
I would find most comfort in winning this subversive cross stitch kit considering I was recently fired from my job in a very unflattering manner. Many of the kits state my very appropriate response to their insensitive dismissal of me, haha.
I would love to win some free Subversive Cross Stitch kits so I can save (embellish) some clothing I made. They need that extra element of spunk!
I would love to win this as I am new to cross stitching and am short of supplies. Wow…this would give me a great start!! Plus…I love the subversive part
having just moved and being in the process of decorating, this would be fabulous! My house is definately in need of a little subversive decorating, a little discreet middle finger to all the nosy posers who snoop around and critique our mixed up style.
I’d like to win this because it’s hilarious! And it’s the perfect gift to make for that special friend with a great sense of humor!
I have loved their kits for a long time and need to replenish my collection!
I need that kit because I’m so devoted to anything stitchy and crafty that my latest tattoo was an embroidery design which says “Craft Or Die”. Consequently, if I don’t get new obsessive crafty projects to do, it’s like taking me away from the air that I breath. See? You must let me WIN!
And additionally, I love being subversive. Rock it!
really love the “it’s lavish, but i call it home”! might have to work on that one!
I am setting up a home office and have just the place for some stitchy snark!
I’ve been wanting to learn to cross stitch, and I’ve been coveting Subversive’s stuff for a few years now. Would LOVE to learn and then maybe teach others…
While my bills are paid, I have very little money for fun right now. This would be perfect in keeping me occupied.
I’ve never really won anything before especially something like this online so for starters that would be a real thrill.
This time last year I was homeless and squatting in a tree house. I’d tried to keep as much of my stuff as I could while I could in hopes that everything would be fine soon enough. So I was basically up there with my crafting supplies and my books. I remember working on a Subversive Cross Stitch while I was out there.
We’re still fairly poor but doing much better than last year. I’d really love the chance to have this much from something I’ve been such a fan of because I’m not certain when I’d be able to get to buy it.
Are those of us from outside the US eligible?
I live in the UK and would love to have a chance of winning!
It’s difficult to find something this, well, subversive over here, and it would be a great opportunity to show it off!
I can think of several people who would enjoy receiving a finished cross stitch as a gift. Also, having something like this hanging on my wall would just remind me that my inner snark is a great thing!
I never win anything, but I enter lots of contests with hopes of winning. Also I love to f***ing craft!
i would like to win, because, really who doesn’t want to win things? i also really dig the style and snark of subversive cross stitch. and i’m broke and can’t afford things right now. so yeah! pick me! pick me!
I love Subversive Cross stitch. It is a source for snarky gifts. Plus, I really need a twee way to tell my coworkers to eff off.
I’d like to win because I feel like it’s something me and my mom can do together and both enjoy.
I would LOVE to win this giveaway, subversive cross stitch is one of my favorites and they would be great funny pieces to decorate my new place!
I think these would be the perfect kits to help me start cross stitching! A friend of mine made the “Shut Your W***e Mouth” one a while ago, and since then I’ve wanted to try some for myself. They’d be perfect hanging around my apartment, I think they fit my personality quite well!
)
I would love to introduce cross stitch to my young womens group and since they all have a highly developed sense of irony, they would love the subversive designs.
I have looked at subversive cross stitch before but I never knew that there were patterns or kits. These would make great gifts for certain people and would make up so quickly.
This is a neat giveaway. I have seen a few of these patterns. So funny!
What a great giveaway!!! I need a new project
I’d love to win these because my house needs some new decor
I get out many of my aggressions by working out, running and climbing. However, sometimes that doesn’t work. Sometimes I just want to sit at home and relax. I tried learning out to knit, that didn’t work. I tried learning how to crochet, that didn’t work. I do know how to cross-stitch, as I have given many as gifts. However, I think this would be a great way to unwind from a stressful day and have a good laugh while doing it.
My grandmother taught me how to cross stitch when I was child, and she had the most biting wit of anyone I have ever met. I know she would have loved to see me cross stitching these patterns–I’d be carrying on TWO family traditions!
I’d like to win this giveaway because I have a friend who is a very skilled at cross stitch and I would like to rival and someday surpass her. I’ve never stitched before, so I have a long road ahead, but this seems like a great place to start!
What a fantastic giveaway!
I’d love to make one of these to hang in my living room.
My abuella taught me when I was very young and I have done it ever since. I literally stitch till my hands ache but my Dr. said it is actually good for my arthritis.
I would love to win because I want to get some gifts and have no money.
Being unemployed for over a year, this would give me something to do between job searches. When I do get a job, the finished pieces would be great decoration for my new cubical/office.
I think it would be very satisfying to make these as Christmas gifts for my family so I can tell them what I really think! Two birds, one stone.
I *love* Subversive cross stitch, and if I win I will use these to make projects for my office and classroom. Hopefully it will help bring cross stitch to the next generation!
I recently started doing embroidery and cross stitch just by teaching myself, and winning some kits would give me a good way to practice and become awesome at it. Plus all the snark should hopefully inspire some of my own equally rude patterns.
Also, winning is sweet, obviously.
Because I just joined the Americorps and am moving to Boston and won’t know anybody there and will need something to do on my down time
Because I would really like to win.
This one requires a bit of background info. My parents and younger sister live in central California, where summers are…let’s say “taxing.” Yesterday qualified as downright balmy because it was only 97 degrees; several weeks in a row of triple-digit temperatures aren’t uncommon. Also, a housefire in my childhood meant that, due to insurance paying for repairs, the wiring and plumbing in the house can be slightly eccentric. Earlier this week, the electricity to the back two bedrooms of their house blew. Fixing it is going to require fixing the actual physical wiring, so like, busting walls down. So let me recap: at the moment, my familial homestead has been turned into a swelteringly hot, dark pit filled with incessant banging. In other words, my poor family members are living in a goblin cave. If anyone on this planet deserves an archly sarcastic cross-stitch sampler, it is them.
…so I can tell all those people (the ones who tell me that cross stitch is for old ladies) to “Shut Your Piehole”.
…Right?
Also, these were at the top of my Christmas list and for some reason my Southern Baptist grandma didn’t buy me one. Weird.
Oh man, I LOVE Subversive Cross Stitch. The sense of humor is RIGHT up my ally, and my new apartment (starting in August) could use some snark.
I’ve recently become obsessed with embroidery and I would love to learn cross stitch as well! And subversive cross stitch is just too funny. i love it!
Subversive was my first cross stitch and I have been in love with them ever since! I’ve been spreading the word of awesome cross stitching to friends and families ever since! My mom has Chill the F*!*K out framed in her living room!
)
I used to be an obsessive x-stitcher until knitting entered my life. But ever since I saw Subversive Cross Stitch I’ve wanted to get back into it.
Because, who doesn’t! This would make awesome gifts and as I currently do not have decoration on my house’s walls. I need some swag!
Because I’ve been knitting, sewing, and crocheting for years but never got around to learning to cross stitch! Plus, I would love my first cross stitching experience to be a snarky one.
Just give me the $50 bitches, that concludes why I want to win.
I’ve been helping my mom relocate 500 miles for the last week and all of the above apply. I need to stitch them out for therapy.
Because Subversive Cross Stitch taught me that there could actually be awesomely weird and fun cross stitch kits and patterns to do, and that everything from the kitchy past of cross stitch doesn’t have to be abandoned to make modern cross stitch fun!
I would love to make some of these for my grandma – she made such beautiful cross-stitches for me when I was a kid, but none of them fit her sharp personality. I bet she’d really like one of these!
Where else would I channel all my internalized anger?
…would be perfect for me, since I haven’t cross stitched for 10 years because I got sick of the cutesy boring patterns available. This would be AWESOME!!
These little sayings can help me create the perfect gift for everyone in my family. Christmas could be interesting this year >:)
So many of my friends want me to make something for them, and they aren’t really the teddy bear sampler set. These would be perfect (I already have a few favorites picked out!).
Fun! I would love to do some more embroidery and this is right up my alley!
Oooh this is right up my alley since I just finished my last cross stitch project. I need more Subversive Cross Stitch in my life!
I loved cross stitch when I was younger, but got too old and cool for butterflies and teddy bears. It never occurred to me that I could take cross stitch and adapt it to my rebellious and snarcastic sensibilities until I first saw Subversive Cross Stitch. What a revelation! This meant I could take all sorts of the old-fashioned crafts and arts that I loved and apply them in modern ways!
I want to decorate my desk at work with these!!!
Call me crazy, but I think everyone needs a ‘Shut Your Piehole’ cross-stitch in their life!
A. I just learned how to cross stitch about a month ago.
B. These are quite awesome.
I’m disabled, but can do projects like this and it makes me *laugh*.
Thanks for the giveaway! My mom taught me to cross stitch when I was seven, and she loves the Subversive Cross Stitch book. She made a bunch of the patterns for her friends at work and showed the book to all our awesome old ladies at our embroidery group, who also love it.
I would lovelovelove to win, my partner and i just bought a new house and are desperately needing some nifty art to hang. AND with the amazing amounts of rain saskatchewan is getting I need something to do while I sit inside and pray for sunshine to make my little garden grow.
I would love to win this cross stitch prize! The past few years I have been wowing my family and friends with the fun things I have knit and would love to open their eyes to another fun craft that has been reinvented.
I need these because despite what my friends might say, there is NOT enough cheekiness in my life!
besides that i love to cross stitch and love offensive humor, i’m poor AND i have some subversive cross stitch coasters that my sister got me, so i need something to go with them!
I would love more projects to express my subversive-ness with!
I would love to win the kits so i can stop adding money to my swear jar and just stitch up some four letter words. Way more therapeutic than actually ranting at someone, i can just stitch up “#@%&!!”
I want to win because I’m a big ole Subversive Cross Stitch fan but haven’t been able to buy any new patterns thanks to the budget. Boo to that!
I’m unemployed and could use the distraction from endlessly sending resumes.
I just bought a new house and need to fill the house with some of this awesomeness!
I think these patterns are hilarious! Sometimes you just get sick of stitching flowers and country cottages, you know? I’d love to win!!
i just finished college, i am broke, bored and looking for new projects.
I live with my grandmother… And she has always wanted me to learn to cross stick since , as she says, it would keep me out of trouble… Now wouldn’t this be the best project to start with lol
Wow, coincidentally i was looking at this last night!! There are so many great patterns on her site, it would be soo hard to chose which projects to make.
I am such a Subversive Cross Stitch fan! I would love to stock up on more patterns that Julie has put out since the book.
I’ve seen the subversive kits before and thouht they were very clever and witty. What a great offer to try them for myself!!
Because I say so many of those things and I have a new office to decorate.
i’d like to win for two reasons
1) subversive x-stitch has some rockin’ items
and
2) i’ve never x-stitched and it’s time i darn well did!
Because I just love Subversive Cross Stitch, and her patterns make me laugh.
