Idlewife has a tutorial up on making wrapped feather gel pens. She just took the inside of a gel pen and attached it to a feather by wrapping in the same color thread. These would make cute party favors or desk decorations. Or a really wild (and useful) headdress, if you could figure out how to rig it.
