Flowers aren’t the only way to add a pop of color to otherwise plain-Jane vases. With just a bit of yarn and an evening in front of the TV, you can whip up a craftier solution! These vase sleeves are worked up in the current pattern-craze du jour (see my Ode-to Missoni Blanket): the chevron stitch. Make them in your favorite colors, then change ‘em out to fit the season… or your mood!

- Row 1 (RS): K1, K2tog, *K4, dbl inc, K4, dbl dec; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2togtbl, K1.
- Row 2: Purl.
- Repeat two rows for pattern.
- You can play with the stripe placement as you like, or follow my choices as a guide.
- Always change colors on a RS row!
