Steps

Step #1:

NextSplit Screen Effect w/ iMovie
  • Open iMovie.
  • Create a new project.

Step #2:

NextSplit Screen Effect w/ iMovie
  • Go to iMovie -> Preferences.
  • Select Show Advanced Tools.

Step #3:

NextSplit Screen Effect w/ iMovieSplit Screen Effect w/ iMovieSplit Screen Effect w/ iMovie
  • Get two separate sets of footage, each with a person on the phone.

Step #4:

NextSplit Screen Effect w/ iMovieSplit Screen Effect w/ iMovieSplit Screen Effect w/ iMovie
  • Drag the first one into iMovie.
  • Then, drag the other one on top and select Side by Side.

Step #5:

Split Screen Effect w/ iMovie
  • Now you have a classic movie phone conversation. Happy moviemaking!
